JUST AN ECHO MUSIC VIDEO -- www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIuvs_uv4io

Sun Nectar's first step into the world, Sheep Love & Metal Gloves, is a beautifully crafted compositional endeavor employing a soaring string quartet that weaves through unique song structures grounded in grooves, with melodies that resemble pop music. The band believes in the power of the pocket, using phat grooves for feel and string quartet for humanity.

This record explores our culture’s sheep and ant-like qualities, the search for unique love and the associated anomalies, and the internal struggle to stay afloat in a sea of information and contrary motion.

Special thanks to: ~ oh my god, there are so many people who contributed to this project in so many ways!

Eric Huntley for everything, from recording and song ideas, to working with me at all hours to get a mix of With My Head done for the Collage concert, to editing, to your general contribution of hours of your time for a total of free dollars, to general life-beasting and understanding... I owe it all! ~ Jen Morris, for constant willingness to lend a helping hand, for tolerating and assisting with countless mix sessions, for the coffees, meals, and general wonderfulness ~ Leah Bobby for helping sort out Just an Echo lyrics and for inspiration ~ Will Stanton and Mike Coffman for really great mix notes once I couldn't tell if any of the music was any good anymore ~ My family for infinite love and support, and for being really awesome people ~ Guy Licata for letting me stand under his fountain of marketing and branding wisdom, despite my general failures at rolling out "assets" ~ All of my roommates for tolerating me pacing around singing, yipping, and talking to myself like a psychopath, and making crazy noises at all hours and never complaining ever (I can't believe the luck of having such tolerant people around me!) ~ to the Lodge, for allowing me to use the studio for this project after my intern hours ~ to the band, who recorded almost everything they did in exchange for nothing but Zingerman's sandwiches... though they are amazing sandwiches you are obviously worth so much more (at least 2 sandwiches each) ~ for everyone else who listened or listens to the music or in any way brightened my life (so, pretty much everyone I know...) whether it be a recommendation, a comment, a pat on the back, a hug, even a slap in the face, thanks for the encouragement and/or impetus to push up and on. And For You!

Track Name: Just an Echo
The kids play
By the schoolyard
I’m not like them now
Can you hear me
Or the thunder?
Won’t you hold my hand
In the dark------

Here, creeping after me
Leave me, Leave me

The kids play
By the schoolyard
I’m not like them now
Can you hear me
Or the thunder?
Won’t you hold my hand
In the dark

Current not blue, burns, not soothes
Fish on a line, and me
Enveloped in a battle cry
Step aside, step aside
Just an echo

Here, creeping after me
Leave me, Leave me
Here, the words don’t make a sound
This is just an echo
Track Name: This Monster
“I only have six months,” he said
His eyes were wet, his eyes were wet
He held a candle near his chin
His body let this monster in
His body let this monster in

“What am I to do with this
What about my wife and kids
How can I abandon them"
His body let this monster in
His body let this monster in

You only have six months, I said
To be the man you’ve always been
To hold your wife and love your kids
Why does it have to come to this?
His body let this monster in
His body is a dying man

He left his candle in my hands
He left and never came again
He died and never came again
Track Name: Small Machines
Small machines
Like people work together
doing nothing to make something

Small machines
Like people work together
doing nothing to make something
Little people singing

I don’t want sex
I don’t want sex
Just money for my family
Just for love and bread
Our love and bread, we keep it on the table

You are a girl, I am a man
That doesn’t mean that I like puzzles
I’m part of something riding on a subway
With a billion cars, maybe
But I’m squeezing out like toothpaste
Oh, on a Sunday
When you still think it’s time for church

I don’t want sex
I don’t want sex
I looked at porn tonight
because of TV – it was TV
I watch it with my family

And my grandparents were married at 20
They were married at 20
and I’m 30, almost 8, almost 18
and almost trying to get off the train while living

Oh, fairy tales are fiction
Fairy tales are fictional
A night in shining armor
with a sword to fuck the princess
but I don’t want sex

And I don’t want to love just one, or cut my hair
Or make you want to fuck me
I just want to think
About the way you love
Track Name: Doesnt Feel Like Spring
It doesn’t feel like spring
‘Til the sun is shining
It’s the middle of april
And we’ve only had rain
The sun won’t shine
‘Til we come to our senses
But that won’t ever happen
So the winter stays

Splash me with the urine
I keep pouring in your water
Because I’m only consuming
To perpetuate dying
So someone consume me
So my life can start living
And give me your voices
Sing me awake

It doesn’t feel like spring
‘Til the sun is shining
It’s the middle of april
And we’ve only had rain
The sun won’t shine
‘Til we come to our senses
But once we settle down
We’ve got nothing to say

I'm tired of sleeping
Give me your morning
Stop it with that grieving
‘Cause nothing has changed, and we’re
Living in fire
A fire, we started
So keep on, moving
‘Cause that’s what they say

It doesn’t feel like spring
‘Til the sun is shining
It’s the middle of april
And we’ve only had rain
The sun won’t shine
‘Til we come to our senses
But once we settle down, we’ve got nothing to say X3
Track Name: Shepherd, Shepherd
Oh Shepard, Shepard come and guide me
I was born without a head
Oh, I have no head!
Doctor, Doctor come and save me
I have found that I am dying, dying
Don’t you have some pills?
To fight off all my ills?
But I don’t have a head…
I can’t hear what the voices said

The star shines brightly, on this mirror
To let you seem a little bit clearer
but what, can be done in this glass reflection
Right here where I started

Here, a girl, a girl to love me
It’s she, who saw the eyes above me
Bring them down to me
I only want to see
What the good lord gave me

Oh Shepard, Shepard I can’t see you
I can feel that it is dark, now
What, oh what am I to do, now?
I can only follow all the others
Running, from something
Something, or nothing
Track Name: These Silent Days
I have tried everything
I don’t know what I need
To make the scenery shake
To make my image move

And when you’re far away
And through these silent days
Part of me has escaped
I find my thoughts with you

I have tried everything
I don’t know what I need
To make the air ring true
I still love you

And when you’re far away
And through these silent days
Part of me has escaped
I find my thoughts with you

And when you’re far away
And through these silent days
Part of me has escaped
I find my thoughts with you---
I find my thoughts with you---
I find my thoughts with you
